Come and browse Belfast Books, or bring us some books to look at. The shop is members only and does not open to the public, so nobody wanders in off the road. You book a time, and when you come the place is yours: no queue, no crowd, and a bookseller with you for as long as you are there.

The two are different appointments, so tell us which one you are.

How selling works

  1. Scan your books with the free World of Books "Sell Your Books" app. It takes five minutes and tells you what they're worth. Screenshot the quote. Get the World of Books app
  2. Check them against our buy list. We buy Irish interest and Troubles books, science fiction, fantasy, horror, literary classics and history. We don't buy crime fiction, cookery, gardening, textbooks, encyclopaedia sets or Readers Digest collections.
  3. Book a time below, and send us the screenshot on WhatsApp if you can, so we know what to expect. Send your screenshot on WhatsApp
  4. Bring the books and the screenshot. We pay you that day, with no boxes, no postage and no waiting. A £50 quote is £55 cash or £60 of books.
  5. The rest still earns you something. The ones we don't buy can go to World of Books, and books nobody wants go to schools, nursing homes and good causes, not landfill.

A subject or a period is more use to us than one title.

We need all three. Your email carries the booking, and your phone is how we reach you if anything changes on the day. We don't add you to any list and we don't pass your details to anyone.

Your £9.99 is not a door fee. It comes off the books you buy, and if you buy nothing you still leave with £9.99 of books.

Nothing is booked and nothing is charged yet. Every request is checked by Mr Books first, from his phone, and you will hear yes or no here and by email, usually within minutes when he is about. If it is yes and there is something to pay, you get a payment link and fifteen minutes to use it. Your booking reference comes once the payment has gone through.

Micro Membership is £4.99 a month and it gets you in: four shop visits a month are included, and you get 10% off used books at belfastbooks.co.uk with your own code. Every membership is recurring, charged every month until you cancel.

Mr Books says yes or no from his phone, usually within minutes when he is about. Keep this page open or come back to it, and you will get an email either way. If it is yes and there is something to pay, the email has the payment link, and the time is yours once paid.

Pay now and your booking reference comes straight back. If the payment has not arrived by then, the time goes back on the diary for someone else.
